Private Residence
Additions and Renovations
Willistown, PA
Construction complete 1997 (Phase One) and 2003 (Phase Two)
A 1950’s ranch style house set amongst a series of traditional and elegant
homes in the horse country of Chester County is transformed with a series
of additions and renovations. The renovations strive to blend the exterior
with the existing fabric of the area while still allowing the interior to
reflect the more contemporary tastes of the owners. The first phase includes
the addition of a front dormer and window system that cantilevers over the
existing foundation to establish a new layer to the façade.
The partitions and ceilings of two interior rooms are removed to form an open and airy living space, and a stair is added to access a newly created second floor studio loft. A dormer also is added to the rear of the house, along with an elegantly detailed porch structure and new landscaping. In the second phase, a two story addition is added to a back corner of the house and includes a new master suite and family room.
This house recently was featured on HGTV’s “What You Get for The Money”.
