Delaware Air National Guard
New Squadron Operations and Aeromedical Evacuation Facility
New Castle County, DE
Construction complete 2001
This project involves the design of a 28,000 SF facility providing the Delaware Air National Guard with squadron operations office space and an emergency communications vault, as well as training and storage facilities. Unique in that the form pushes the limits of traditional military facility design and hints at its function by striving to express the symbology of flight, the building sits at the end of the runway at the New Castle County Airport and provides framed views of the aircraft occupying the tarmac directly adjacent.

Representative of the strength and robustness of the groups housed within, the design also reflects the visual influence of both the local casino industry as well as the resort vernacular of an earlier era.

New Jersey State Police
New Troop C Headquarters, 9-1-1 Center and State Forensic Laboratory
Hamilton Township, NJ
Construction complete 2003
This centrally located facility forms a campus to serve multiple needs of the entire State Police Force by providing 68,000 SF for State Police Headquarters, 38,000 SF for the 9-1-1 communications facility and 195,000 SF for forensic laboratory space. Specific design requirements dictating that the structures can be only one story and must be constructed from pre-engineered units present significant aesthetic challenges, but a creative approach results in a look that is not only interesting but that also successfully links the series of functions as a congruous campus.
