Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center
Additions and Renovations
Lower Providence, PA
Estimated completion 2007
In
conjunction with the local firm of Seiler+Drury Architecture , SGA provided
programming, planning and design services for a 12,000 SF addition as well
as full renovations to the existing 26,000 SF facility in an effort to extend
usefulness and to respond to an anticipated growth of service.
Designed as a fully redundant, secure and hardened facility, the Emergency Operations Center serves all County Emergency Operations and 9–1–1 needs. Current relationships between spaces in the existing facility were examined and helped to determine adjacencies in the new and renovated spaces.
In addition to the structural and technical requirements of the facility, a creative design solution was sought that addresses ergonomic concerns for facility employees. Finally, a migration plan was created to ensure uninterrupted operation of the facility throughout the entire renovation and addition process.
